A Word of WelcomeWelcome to the Trinity Church website. Whatever you are looking for we hope you’ll find some sign posts and connections as you browse around its pages. At Trinity Church we are trying to be a church that is rooted in its traditions yet developing new ways of being a Christian Community. Situated next to the ASDA supermarket car park, our Sunday morning service takes place against the backdrop of cars coming and going from the store. With large, long windows our worship is very visible to people as they go about their business. In this context we are forever struggling to make our worship relevant and accessible to our busy ‘silicon valley’ community. As people gathered around the cross we try to allow the rapidly changing and demanding issues of our daily lives speak and be spoken to, by the never changing reality of God’s love for us. Being a partnership of the United Reformed, Methodist and Church of England traditions people in the church have always had to be open to different ideas and ways of doing things. We have to be continually gracious to one another, trying always to see things from different points of view. Hopefully this frame of mind, this way of being church, helps us to be a welcoming community, reflecting Christ’s welcome to us all. It also means that we actively seek to serve the communities of which we are a part, both individually and collectively. We are trying to be part of Christ’s life and light in the world. I do hope you enjoy looking round our website. A good place to start is the ‘Church and Parish profile’. It gives a snapshot of life at Trinity, where we’ve come from and what we hope to do. Please do leave any comments and questions. All jokes and stories (suitable for sermons!) gratefully received. (See Humour page, submit via Visitors book) May God continue to guide you on your journey. Rev Nick Thompson |
